Mycroft Information is an engineering consulting firm specializing in the technology, strategy, education and business development of the global Internet and the World Wide Web. Mycroft's clients come from the computer, telecommunications, finance, education, banking, government, non-profit and insurance industries.

Founded in 1981, Mycroft Information takes its name from Mycroft Holmes, brother and consultant to the fictional consulting detective Sherlock Holmes.

Now operating only as a consultancy to consultants, Mycroft Information limits its practice to "Invitation Only."

[Photo of Pete Stair] Henry H. Stair is President (Ret) and Founder of Mycroft Information and is a frequently sought-out speaker and seminar leader on telecommunications, the global Internet and World Wide Web. In past years, he has led Internet and World Wide Web seminars and workshops in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America.

Mr. Stair is retired as an Adjunct Faculty Member at New York's Pace University Ivan G. Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems where he taught telecommunications and web design. In recent years he conducted an E-Government class for graduate students at a Hong Kong University and has directed multiple sections of a high-technology, hands-on Network Skills Academy for major telecommunications clients. In addition, he has contributed regularly to corporate seminars on the Future Directions in Telecommunications and to Internet World Conference programs.

He is a graduate of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California with post-graduate studies in communications theory, computer architecture, operating systems, management and financial analysis.

Mr. Stair holds two U. S. Patents and is the co-author of the post-graduate book: Megabit Data Communications published in 1990 by Prentice Hall. He is also the co-author with Dr. David Sachs of Hands-On Internet published in 1994 for Prentice Hall. His third book, also co-authored with Dr. Sachs, is Hands-On Mosaic, was released in December, 1994. Their next two books, Instant Internet and Hands-On Netscape were released in 1995. Their Seven Keys to Effective Web Sites was released in 1996.

His industry experience includes managerial and technical assignments in the aerospace and process instrumentation industries and with IBM in California, France and New York. In 1991 he was elected to membership in the IBM Academy of Technology. He is a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer (Retired) and a Registered Control Systems Engineer (Retired) in California and is a licensed Sightseeing Guide in New York City.
